Jakabfi and Miedema the top scorers

German clubs may have missed out on the final for the first time in a decade but Wolfsburg's Zsanett Jakabfi and Bayern München's Vivianne Miedema did finish as joint top scorers for the UEFA Women's Champions League season.

Hungarian international Jakabfi, who missed the quarter-final loss to Lyon through injury, got eight goals in the first two rounds, including a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea and four away to Sweden's Eskilstuna United in the round of 16. Dutch forward Miedema notched her eighth goal in a 1-0 quarter-final first-leg defeat of Paris Saint-Germain, who then came back to win 4-0 in the return.

Two players started the final a hat-trick away from overtaking Jakabfi and Miedema; Paris's Cristiane and Lyon's Eugénie Le Sommer As it finished 0-0, though, there were no changes.

In the overall table, Anja Mittag did not score for new club Wolfsburg in their run to the quarter-finals so remains stuck on 49 goals, having overtaken Conny Pohlers for the all-time lead last season while at Paris. Marta, on 46, also drew a blank for Rosengård, though fourth-placed Lotta Schelin did register for the Swedish side, whom she joined from Lyon last summer after a record 41 goals for a single club in the competition.
