Youth League last 16 starts: knockout guide

Bayern München take on Real Madrid, Liverpool welcome Manchester United, and Paris have been paired with Barcelona as the round of 16 is played on Tuesday and Wednesday: our knockout guide.

Bayern München v Real Madrid, Liverpool v Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona are among the most exciting ties set up for the UEFA Youth League round of 16 to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday as the fifth edition continues.

Paris against Barcelona and Manchester City versus Internazionale Milano are the two Tuesday games, with the six Wednesday ties including holders Salzburg's trip to Porto. All matches are one-off with the draw for the rest of the competition made along with the round of 16 on 9 February

  • The first team drawn will play the single-leg knockout match at home against the second team drawn. No clubs were seeded and there was no country protection. The winners and runners-up of the same group in the Champions League path could not be drawn against each other.
  • Former winners involved: Salzburg (2017), Chelsea (2015 and 2016), Barcelona (2014)
  • Paris were 2016 runners-up; Real Madrid have reached three semi-finals
