Gerard Piqué's goal for Barcelona against Roma was his 12th in the UEFA Champions League, taking him to joint third in the list of all-time top-scoring defenders.

Piqué put Barcelona 3-0 up in the first leg of their quarter-final tie against the Giallorossi on Wednesday. He had not found the net in Europe's premier club competition since matchday two of the 2016/17 campaign, in a 2-1 victory at Borussia Mönchengladbach, but now trails only Roberto Carlos and Iván Helguera among his most prolific peers.
