Ján Kováčik will remain at the helm of football in Slovakia for another four years.

The 55-year-old was re-elected unanimously as president of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) for his third term of office at the association's assembly in Senec on Friday. "I feel huge respect," said Kováčik, who has worked in both the construction industry and the entertainment world, and is a former owner of Dukla Banská Bystrica.

"I am ready to do my best to help Slovak football's infrastructure. I believe the next four years will be really positive."

Kováčik's main priorities remain the construction of new stadiums, as well as to ensure that football is the number one sport in Slovakia. "I wish to build bridges and not walls," he emphasised.

The Slovak Football Association has undertaken various recent projects, including the construction of the Slovak Football Hall of Fame museum. The country's capital Bratislava will host the 42nd Ordinary UEFA Congress on 26 February.
