CAS decisions

Since 2012, UEFA regularly publishes the decision of its Organs for Administration of Justice (i.e. the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, the Appeals Body and the Club Financial Control Body).

As a significant step to further increase transparency and to provide useful information to UEFA's stakeholders, UEFA also publishes:
i) decisions issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in cases involving UEFA, and
ii) the list of CAS arbitrators specialised in football proposed by UEFA for the CAS within the FIFA list

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has announced the following decisions: Match: UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Manchester City FC and FC Basel 1893 (1-2), played on 7 March in England. Charge against FC Basel 1893: - Setting off of fireworks - Art. 16 (2) (c) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) Decision: The CEDB has decided to fine FC Basel 1893 €8,000. - - - - - - - - - - - Match: UEFA Europa League round of 32 match between Atalanta BC and Borussia Dortmund (1-1), played on 22 February in Italy. Charges against Atlanta BC: - Racist behaviour (monkey chants) – Article 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) - Setting off of fireworks – Art. 16 (2) (c) DR - Throwing of objects – Art. 16 (2) (b) DR - Stairways blocked – Article 38 of the UEFA Safety & Security Regulations Decision: The CEDB has decided: - to fine Atalanta BC €34,000; - to close the disciplinary proceedings opened for racist or discriminatory behavior. Charges against Borussia Dortmund: - Setting off of fireworks – Art. 16 (2) (c) DR - Throwing of objects – Art. 16 (2) (b) DR Decision: The CEDB has decided to fine Borussia Dortmund €40,000. - - - - - - - - - - - Match: UEFA Europa League round of 32 match between Crvena zvezda and PFC CSKA Moskva (0-0), played on 13 February in Serbia. The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has announced the following decision: Match: UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid CF (1-2), played on 6 March in France. Charges against Paris Saint-Germain: • Setting off of fireworks - Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) • Stairways blocked - Art. 33 of the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations • Use of laser pointer - Art. 16 (2) DR • Lack of body searching- Security/Stadium Decision: The CEDB has decided: - to order the closure of the North Stand of the Paris Saint-Germain Stadium during the next UEFA competition match in which Paris Saint-Germain would play as the host club; - to fine Paris Saint-Germain €43,000; - to close the disciplinary proceedings opened for lack of body searching. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has announced the following decision: Match: UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match between Athletic Club and Olympique de Marseille (1-2), played on 15 March in Spain. Charges against Olympique de Marseille : • Crowd disturbances - Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) • Setting off of fireworks - Art. 16 (2) DR   Decision: The CEDB has decided: - to ban Olympique de Marseille from selling tickets to its supporters for the next two UEFA competition matches which the club will play as the visiting team. The ban from selling tickets for the second UEFA competition match as the visiting team is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years. This means that Olympique de Marseille will not be able to sell tickets to its supporters for the next UEFA Europa League quarter-final away match against RB Leipzig on 5 April 2018 in Germany. In addition, the home team must not make at least 5% of the total approved UEFA capacity of their stadium available exclusively to visiting supporters; - to fine Olympique de Marseille €30,000. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Match: UEFA Europa League Round of 32 match between Athletic Club and FC Spartak Moskva (1-2) played on 22 February in Spain. With regard to the incidents relating to the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 match between Athletic Club and FC Spartak Moskva (1-2) played on 22 February 2018 in Bilbao, Spain, UEFA would like to inform that it received the official police reports from the Spanish authorities only today, on the morning of Thursday 22 March 2018. These reports were requested in the context of the investigation launched by the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector on three different occasions: for the first time on 27 February, for a second time on 5 March and for a third time on 15 March. Due to the late submissions of the requested reports, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body was unable to deal with the case at today’s meeting. Therefore, the proceedings will be considered at the next meeting of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body with the date of the hearing yet to be confirmed.
