The fans of Iceland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Wales are being honoured by UEFA during the upcoming European Qualifiers for the magnificent support they gave their national teams at UEFA EURO 2016.

The four football associations will be presented with commemorative plaques at their home matches over the coming weeks, in recognition of the pride, passion and respect shown by their supporters at the tournament in France – special attributes which helped give UEFA EURO 2016 a festival atmosphere.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin paid a warm tribute to the quartet. "UEFA EURO 2016 was a celebration of football," he said, "and this is thanks in large part to the passion and dedication of fans at all stadiums in France.

"UEFA wanted to reward some of the groups of supporters that were particularly enthusiastic and passionate during the tournament. Congratulations to the national associations who are receiving this award."
